-Me gusta por: inevitablemente, algunas veces, algunas canciones, se te pegan a momentos de tu vida, a personas, a situaciones. Esta es una de esas canciones, una canción pegada a mí como una lapa desde hace unas semanas, como una segunda piel que te acompaña allá donde vayas, tanto con los pies como con la mente ¿cuántas veces pasa un tren?

-Momento perfecto para escucharla: en Bilbao en una habitación de hotel

-El videoclip trata de: aparecen ellos en una grabación sobre una pared y un chico en primer plano haciendo diferentes cosas. Sencillo, pero que te permite concentrarte en la buenísima canción.

Gorillaz - On Melancholy Hill

-La conocí por: fue el segundo single del disco Plastic Beach y según lo escuché ya sabía que sería una canción fija en cualquier recopilatorio de esta banda.

-Me gusta por: Es increíble que tras años de rodaje de este blog, aún no tuviera representación musical uno de los grupos que más me han marcado en mi vida. Pero hoy pongo un temazo que compensará el retraso. On Melancholy Hill pertenece a la nómina de canciones tranquilas de este proyecto llamado Gorillaz, así como El mañana. Aunque parezca mentira en un grupo que practica trip-hop, electrónica o lo que ellos denominan zombie hiphop, la letra resulta sorprendentemente romántica y su escucha es muy sencilla para quien no sea muy fan de la música salida de ordenadores. La recomiendo totalmente, estoy seguro que de aquí saldrán gori-fans :)

-Momento perfecto para escucharla: con mis preciosisisisisimas converse  Gorilla edition!!! :)

-El videoclip trata de: visto como video único resulta un tanto desconcertante, porque se trata de una historia continuada con el resto de videos del grupo. Aún así tiene el estilo clásico del grupo, con los 4 personajes anime que dan imagen a portadas y vídeos. Con Noodle en un barco a punto de naufragar, 2D y Murdoc en un submarino y Russel surcando el mar :)

-La conocí por: Lynyrd Skynyrd es uno de los grupos, que sin darme cuenta, antes comencé a escuchar. De pequeño recuerdo en mi casa escuchar el Sweet Home Alabama, sin saber la importancia de esta banda y lo que sería para mí en el futuro.

-Me gusta por: Si me piden que les ponga algo de Lynyrd, lo más facil es irse al Sweet Home Alabama o al también recurrido (pero más psicodélico Free Byrd), yo suelo poner este tema, clásico rock de una de las bandas mas auténticas que ha dado la música. Con el orgullo sureño por bandera, pura música, letra impresionante y un sentimiento muy arraigado. Genial canción para introducirse en esta legendaria banda.

-Momento perfecto para escucharla: con el inicio del año, no estaría mal seguir la filosofía de vida de un "simple man", no?

-La conocí por: estando en mi reciente concierto de calexico, tuve la oportunidad de escuchar una colaboración suya con el grupo telonero, Blind Pilot, en el que cantaban esta preciosa canción, originalmente de Gillian Welch. Investigándola, supe que la maravillosa Miranda Lambert también la habia versionado...y aquí esta :)

-Me gusta por: Segunda canción consecutiva country que meto en este espacio mío. Dicen que lo que escuchas refleja lo que tienes dentro y esta calma que aporta este género habla del momento que paso. Un momento de disfrutar lo que tengo, de saborear cada segundo, de disfrutar de lo que hago y de cerrar los ojos y sonreír, porque hay motivo para ello. Esta canción tiene ese regusto de algo bien hecho, de las cosas que salen bien por hacerlas desde dentro. Curiosidad: en el concierto, el cantante de calexico necesitó un folio con la letra de la canción para poder cantarla correctamente, adivináis quien tiene ahora esa hoja de papel en su casa? :)

-Me gusta por: brutal optimismo y estilazo 100% country el del canadiense, en esta canción desborda luz y buen rollo con un tema que habla de algo tan banal como un picnic en el campo, es genial :)

-Me gusta por: Aunque la música electrónica es un habitual en mi discoteca particular, no es muy común que lo ponga en este blog, por el hecho de que suelo poner canciones que transmitan algo más.. Sin embargo este corte me llama poderosamente la atención por la libertad de rezuma. No es un tema pegajoso ni plomizo, sino que invita a ser escuchado una y otra vez, me gusta y mucho y es un ejemplo de música de esta década.

-Me gusta por: Las cosas sencillas son las mejores en la vida. Una sonrisa, un gesto, una mirada, una caricia...Esta canción es como esas pequeñas cosas, un trozo de música y letra unidas sin pretensiones que consiguen que te cambien el estado de ánimo de un dia entero. Es la primera (que no la única) que me ha llamado la atención del nuevo disco de los genios de Tucson. Sencillamente maravillosos, maravillosamente sencillos...

-Me gusta por: esta es la canción que da título al álbum y es increíble...resume perfectamente el carácter y el estilo de estas dos hermanas de las que me confieso fan absoluto y total, de hecho mi frase más repetida estos días es: ¿pueden ser mejores?. Preciosa mezcla entre el cálido folk y la modernidad de la música sueca. Muy enamorables :)
